- Pinch of salt
Equipment:
- Andrew James Stand Mixer– for easy mixing
- Andrew James Halogen Oven – to bake your cookies to perfection
- Rolling pin
- Gingerbread man cookie cutters
- Baking tray
- Parchment paper
Method:
1. Prepare the dough
In your Andrew James Stand Mixer, add the softened butter and brown sugar. Mix on medium speed until it becomes light and fluffy. The stand mixer will do all the hard work for you, so sit back and enjoy watching the magic happen!
Crack in the egg, pour in the golden syrup, and mix again until everything is well combined.
2. Add the dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, and salt. Slowly add this dry mixture into your wet ingredients while the mixer is on low speed. Let the **Andrew James Stand Mixer** mix it all into a smooth dough.
3. Chill the dough
Once the dough is ready, wrap it in cling film and pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes. This will make it easier to roll out later.
4. Roll and cut your cookies
Preheat your Andrew James Halogen Oven to 180°C. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface until it's about 0.5 cm thick. Use your gingerbread man cutters to create cute cookie shapes!
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place your gingerbread men, making sure they have a little space between them.
5. Bake to perfection
Transfer the tray to the Andrew James Halogen Oven. Bake at 180°C for 10–12 minutes or until the edges start to turn golden brown. The halogen oven ensures an even bake, giving you perfectly crisp and delicious gingerbread men every time.
6. Cool and decorate
Allow the cookies to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once completely cool, you can have fun decorating them with icing, buttons, or chocolate—get creative!
Tips for the Best Gingerbread Cookies:
- For an extra ginger kick, add some finely grated fresh ginger to the dough.
- If you prefer a softer cookie, reduce the bake time by 1–2 minutes.
